Amir Friedman, CPA, CITPPresident
Amir oversees all aspects of NextStep. He has helped clients in many industries – including manufacturing, distribution, service and not-for-profit - select and implement accounting and business management systems. His experience includes over 19 years of business management software consulting (over 16 years with Sage MAS 90). Before joining the firm, Amir was a Product Manager for a New England-based software company, where he oversaw the design and development of commercial software. Prior to that, Amir was an MIS Project Leader at an international manufacturing company, where he developed and supported software and conducted corporate-wide training.
Amir has a BS degree in Computer Science and Information Systems Management from the University of Maryland. He is a Certified Public Accountant and a Certified Information Technology Professional. He served in the Israeli Air Force and later as an Assistant Military Attaché for Research and Development at the Embassy of Israel, Washington, D.C. He is a graduate of Leadership Lancaster, a Certified JobOps consultant and a Sage Software MAS 90 and 200 Certified Trainer.
Nancy MartinAdministrative Manager
Nancy provides tremendous administrative efficiency to NextStep. She uses skills developed and sharpened over many years of experience to streamline and support our operations. The speed, reliability and accuracy that typify her work allow our consultants to focus entirely on client service.
In addition to maintaining our internal Sage MAS 200 system, Nancy manages the renewal process of our clients' software maintenance and support plans.
Nancy also provides marketing support for NextStep by updating and producing marketing pieces, organizing events such as our user-group meetings, and distributing newsletters and other client correspondence. She has been with Simon Lever LLP for over 22 years.
Scott Neghiu, MCSE, CCA, CNAIT Consultant
Scott brings to our clients extensive experience in Windows, Citrix, Unix, Linux and OS/2 environments. He was previously responsible for supporting 110 locations of a large pharmaceutical retail chain, where he received the top customer service award. In another position he administered over 50 servers running Windows, Citrix and MS SQL Server.
Scott holds numerous technical certifications: Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE), a Citrix Certified Administrator (CCA), a Certified Novell Administrator (CNA); CompTia A+, Network+, Server+, Security+ and IT Project+, as well as a Certified Service Technician for IBM, HP (including Compaq), Canon and Lexmark equipment. He is also HIPAA trained on IT security standards, policies and procedures, and is close to obtaining the Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) credential. Scott holds a BS degree from Juniata College.
Roberta Mayer, CPP
Business Systems Consultant
Roberta adds to our team over 15 years in corporate accounting, in the manufacturing and service industries. She was General Accounting Manager at the Pennsylvania plant of M&M Mars, a global confectionery manufacturer. For the last year she has served as Payroll Services Supervisor at Simon Lever LLP, an accounting and business consulting firm, overseeing and providing consulting services on payroll processing, quarterly tax returns, and federal, state and local payroll regulations for 150 clients in various industries. In addition to helping clients with payroll issues, Roberta provides our clients with support and consulting services related to MAS 90's financial, distribution and manufacturing modules.
In addition to being a Certified Payroll Professional (CPP), Roberta holds an Advanced Professional Certificate in Human Resource Management from Penn State University. She has a BS in Accounting from Binghamton University and an MBA from Syracuse University.
Steve Iwanowski, MCSE, MCDBA, CCA
IT Consultant
Steve has extensive experience with hardware and software implementation and support, end-user training, strategic IT planning and project management. In addition to Microsoft network infrastructure, his expertise includes SQL, PHP, Cisco, SonicWall and Voice over IP (VoIP) systems.
Steve has served as the IT Manager at Sunline Coach Company and as a Software Applications Engineer at Carel USA. He previously supported numerous users, servers and workstations at the PA Department of Environmental Protection.
Steve holds a B.S. degree in Management Information Systems. He is a Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE), a Microsoft Certified Database Administrator (MCDBA), a Citrix Certified Administrator (CCA), and a Sage Software MAS 90 and MAS 200 Certified Trainer. He is currently working on obtaining Citrix Certified Enterprise Administrator (CCEA) credentials.
Tod TraubBusiness Systems Consultant
Tod brings tremendous private- and public-sector business experience to the NextStep Team, where he helps clients streamline business processes. He came to us from the $30 million for-profit Pennsylvania Correctional Industries (PCI), where he was Assistant Director, responsible for Operations, Finance, and Sales Marketing. PCI is engaged in a wide range of manufacturing and service industries including metal fabrication, wood products, garments, textiles and shoes, printing and signs as well as institutional laundry services.
Tod also oversaw PCI's expansion into Commissary Distribution Services, which is expected to generate an additional $28 million in sales. Tod also served as Project Manager for a large-scale ERP implementation. He began his manufacturing career spending six years managing Caribbean Operations for the Striderite Corporation. His expertise exemplifies NextStep's motto: The Fusion of Technology and Business Insights.
Tod holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering from Clarkson University and a Masters Degree in Business Administration (MBA) from Penn State University, where he graduated with a 4.0 GPA. He is a Sage Software MAS 90 and MAS 200 Certified Trainer, a JobOps Certified Consultant and a member of the American Production and Inventory Control Society (APICS).
Kevin C. Page, MCP, CCEAIT Consultant
Kevin oversees and provides many of the technology consulting and support services provided by NextStep to its diverse client base. He previously served as Simon Lever LLP's internal IT Consultant, developing, implementing and supporting solutions for the firm's hardware, software and user training needs. He has extensive experience with Windows, Citrix, Unix, and local- and wide-area networks.
Prior to joining NextStep, Kevin worked for a transportation software company, where he designed, installed and supported network systems for the firm’s clients nationwide.
Kevin graduated from the Berks Technical Institute with a Cumulative 4.0 GPA in Network Administration. His certifications include Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP), Citrix Certified Administrator (CCA) and Certified ThinPrint Master.
Kim NugentRelations Manager
Kim is the newest member of the NextStep team. She comes to us with over five years of experience in management, marketing, business development, employee training and customer relations.
With her previous employer – Enterprise -- Kim won several accolades for customer service and new business growth. She received a 96% overall approval rating for her team by leading the way in response time, accuracy, and reporting. Most recently, Kim managed a new business unit where she spearheaded process improvement, project management and business development.
In her role as NextStep’s Relations Manager, Kim will help us identify additional client needs and develop new service offerings based on proven technology solutions. She will also champion our continuous improvement effort, focusing on enhancing client communications and streamlining internal processes. Kim holds both a BA and an MBA from Saint Francis University.
